RX8 Shock Sensor Install Help

The instructions that ship with the RX-8 shock sensor are difficult to read/understand because the diagrams are easily misread.

I've made modifications to the instructions to show more clearly what is going on...

Here is a closer look at the brown wire section. The photo to the left is the original. To the right is a colored version that shows more clearly where the brown wire is located. I have colored it RED. Yellow is another set of unrelated wires.

Same thing goes for this picture.

Finally, while it isn't clear on the pic to the left where the brown wire is located, I've modified the earlier picture to show that there are 3 identical sockets up above (unrelated items in yellow), the middle one (shown in red) is the one you want to look at for the brown wire. There are two brown wires, one is pure brown, the other has a stripe in it, make sure the wire you find and cut is pure brown.

Hopefully this will make the install easier for you.

What is this shock sensor for?
The shock sensor is a mazda oem option. It is basically a sensor that detects movement and activates the car alarm. You can adjust sensitivity so that it triggers on slight movement, or on a lot of movement. Usually you do not want it triggered easily because cars driving by can cause vibrations that trigger it.
werD!
HOW DO YO ADJUST THE SHOCK SENSOR?
The shock sensor is adjusted by turning a little dial that is on the body of the unit.

Have something to say?
